UK Police Examine Stansted Flight Records Tied to Epstein

(MENAFN) British authorities are examining records of private flights to and from London’s Stansted Airport following the release of files from the US Department of Justice concerning the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to media reports on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said, “We are assessing the information that has emerged in relation to private flights into and out of Stansted Airport following the publication of the US DoJ Epstein files.” The BBC noted that while the review is underway, it may not necessarily result in a full investigation.

Previous reporting indicated that 87 flights connected to Epstein arrived at or departed from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018. Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has claimed that the documents reveal, “in graphic detail,” how Epstein allegedly used the Essex hub to transport girls from Latvia, Lithuania, and Russia. Brown has called for an urgent re-examination of whether Epstein’s victims were trafficked both within the UK and internationally and has written to the chief police constables and commissioners of the Metropolitan Police, Essex, and Thames Valley Police.

Stansted Airport clarified that “all private aircraft at London Stansted operate through independent fixed base operators, which handle all aspects of private and corporate aviation in line with regulatory requirements.”
